The Boulevard collaborative project that will designate and recognize with plaques or signs, specific locations in Petaluma where notable scenes of movies were filmed. also hopes to include those of writer/director George Lucas and producer Francis Ford Coppola. Patterned after the star prints in front of Hollywood?s Grauman?s Chinese Theatre, Hands of American Graffiti will consist of individual concrete blocks, each bearing the hand prints, character name and actor name of one of the film?s stars. Hands of American Graffiti will be a permanent tribute to the film. He was responsible for managing all of the cars, overseeing the building of the ?32 Deuce, which has become the world?s most recognized and photographed car, and setting up the car for the destruction of the police car scene, perhaps the film?s most memorable moment.Īdditionally, Salute to American Graffiti raises funds for Hands of American Graffiti and the Petaluma Filmsite Tour. ![]() 20, 2006, just a few months after last year?s salute. The streets of downtown Petaluma come alive with the roaring and rumbling of well-waxed classic cars burning rubber as the second annual Salute to American Graffiti cruises into town May 17-19.
